This Mortal Coil

My winning entry in 2007's NaNoWriMo.

Knowledge, power, wealth and eternal life--that is what they were seeking when they attempted the great work. They succeeded, but the everlasting life, the knowledge; and the power and wealth that flowed from them weren't quite what they'd expected. Oh, and all these things were bestowed...on the wrong person.

Cold Start

This is the story that earned me my very first rejection notice.

The journal entries of the first man to ever be cryogenically preserved and successfully resuscitated. At first he does so in order to defer some legal complications; later it becomes something of a new career.
